    En este artículo se resumen las principales reflexiones y conclusiones presentadas los días 27 y 28 de marzo de 2014 en la conferencia sobre prosperidad y futuros sistemas nacionales de infraestructura celebrada en la Universidad de Cambridge, Inglaterra. Se trataron los siguientes temas; (1) infraestructuras como sistemas económicos dinámicos, (2) financiación e implementación de infraestructuras, (3) perspectivas espaciales en infraestructuras y desarrollo, (4) infraestructura y crecimiento económico, y (5) modelado del riesgo asociado con los fallos de las infraestructuras. Un mejor entendimiento de la interdependencia entre los distintos sectores que conforman los diversos sistemas de infraestructuras se identificó como clave para abordar estas cuestiones.

    The article provides a summary of the main new thinking and conclusions reached at the conference about the future of national infrastructure systems and economic prosperity, held in Cambridge, UK on 27th-28th Mar ch 2014. The following topics were discussed in detail: (1) infrastructure as dynamic economic systems, (2) infrastructure finance and implementation, (3) spatial perspectives on infrastructure development, (4) infrastructure and economic growth, (5) modelling the risks associated with infrastructure failure. A better understanding of the interdependencies among the different sectors of the infrastructure system was identified as a cor nerstone to tackle these questions.
