La estabilidad del sistema político británico fue puesta en cuestión por una serie de reivindicaciones, que exigían cambios constitucionales profundos. Estos cambios supusieron una revisión de la relación íntima entre Estado e Iglesia anglicana y de las reglas políticas que regían ese Estado. Ante todos esos cambios, algunas mujeres británicas participaron en las campañas que llevaron a su aprobación y se movilizaron a favor y en contra de esos cambios.
The stability of the British political system was challenged by a number of claims, which demanded profound constitutional changes. These changes involved a review of the intimate relationship between state and the Anglican Church, and the po litical principles which ruled his State. Given all these changes, some British women participated in the campaigns that led to their approval and they mobilized themselves for and against these changes.
