Adolescents with morbid obesity have poor eating habits which allowed significantly gain weight that have health complications. This work allows us to establish the association of dietary habits, levels of leptinand the polymorphism Gln223Arg of leptin receptor gene in these adolescents. The study population was 42 adolescents from southern Jalisco and we found strongly associated poor eating habits with the development of obesity and we recognize the presence of elevated leptin levels in adolescents with morbid obesity but not the polymorphism association with morbid obesity, eating habits and levels of leptin.
