  • Resumen
    • Wastewater sludge can be added to the soil for increase the productivity of agricultural soil. The effect of the biosolid on soil characteristics and growth of bean plants (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) was compared whit that of inorganic fertilizer and a soil without an extra N source. Plants cultivated in a soil amended with biosolid (30% w/w) developed best while those amended with inorganic fertilizer. Bean plants grown in the soil with biosolid had the highest length of tail, number of nodules and seeds per plant, that the electrolytic conductivity (EC) and pH was not different between the treatments and that the amount of N did not inhibited the develop of the bean plant. It was found that biosolid stimulated development and productivity of bean plants to a larger extent than those cultivated in inorganic fertilized soil or unamended soil in the greenhouse.
