La vergüenza es un afecto común entre quienes han padecido la vio - lencia, cuya pretensión no es sim - plemente dominar al otro, sino que ambiciona arrebatarle la dignidad al sujeto. Así, lo somete a diferentes formas de vergüenza: una en la que los vejámenes apuntan a desvelar su falta y otra, la vergüenza �por exceso� que traspasa el límite de la desnudez del cuerpo y reduce al sujeto al objeto más abyecto.

Among those who have suffered violence, shame is a common affec - tion, whose ambition is not just to dominate the other, but to snatch the dignity of the subject. Thus, the victims are subdued to different forms of shame: one in which the harassment points to unveil their fault; and another, �over-excess� shame, which trespasses the boun - dary of the nudity of the body and reduces the subject to the most abject object. The tie that Freud dis - covered in his analysis of the smutty joke points out how the strategy of violence, besides the attack on the subject and, in particular, against the obvious difference in women who intimidate the attacker, is not achieved without bribing a third, representative of the Other who is intended to be fulfilled by introdu - cing the obscene jouissance in the place of his fault.
