  • Resumen
    • Tourism is considered one of the major economics activities such as a generator of foreign exchange, jobs and production chains. This has given an important role as a main actor in the development of the regions. This paper analyzes the impact of tourism on economic growth and development of the states in Mexico, particularly in two regions "Golfo y Bajío" in 2003-2011. The principal idea is to determine whether tourism impacts in the same way, beyond type of tourism that exists in the states. The results indicate that participation in the growth of tourism and economic development entities is similar between them. The results are comparable to what exists in other nations.
