The work highlights the role of scientific research for the advancement of science in general, and that this plays in the modern University, as well as the relevance of adopt the form of organization of the scientific work starting from the model of academic bodies.
The work describes and argues the line of generation and application of knowledge adopted by the academic body (AB) "Population and development" of the Autonomous University of Zacatecas.
It is given a look at the work experience of the AB, around the implemented research projects and link these with networks of collaboration, a while gives insight into the production and dissemination of the knowledge resulting.
