Resumen de Incremento en la solubilidad y producción de biogás al pretratar térmicamente el sustrato

Miriam Medina, Oscar Vargas, Vicente Cisneros, Claudia Bustamante, Roberto Vázquez

  • Biogas is considered a clean and renewable fuel, so the purpose of this study is to improve the treatment of organic matter through anaerobic digestion to obtain a stable waste and to increase the production of biogas. The research reported in this paper determines the effect thermal pretreatment on substrate of anaerobic digestion at four different temperatures (40, 60, 80, 100 °C). The variable analyzed for the pretreatment was solubility´s ratio sCOD/tCOD and in the process of anaerobic digestion net production (ml CH4) and yield of biogas (ml CH4 /g tCOD). The results indicated that the optimal process is one which carries a pretreatment at 80°C with a net production and yield of 481 ml CH4 and 0.346 ml CH4/g tCOD, respectively. However, considering the energy cost was concluded that the pretreatment temperature should be at 60°C, because the difference in the variables is not as significant, 412 ml CH4 and 0.328 ml CH4/g tCOD.
