Credit Rating Agencies have a very relevant role to play in today´s financial Systems. Notwithstanding some of their well known mistakes, their activities have been unregulated for decades. Following IOSCO´s initiatives and fuelled by the economic crisis, legislatorns in USA and Europe are introducing Statutes to regulate their internal governance and their business models.
