  • Resumen
    • The research analyzed the twelve objectives of the National Plan for Good Living and public policy orientation of central government. It was noted that these objectives are based on a critique of the current development model based on a global market economy and are intended to provide a basis for the construction of an alternative economic model. However, the process of renewal of economic thought has been accompanied by strong criticism from civil society and academia, who consider it authoritative. This paper presents the "lines of inquiry" to be considered by ecuadorian higher education institutions in order to scientifically monitor public policy, contrast the main thesis of the Good Living proposal and participate more actively in the construction of the new economy through national system of decentralized participatory planning.
