  • Resumen
    • The exponential increase of scientific information and documentation, as well as the introduction of new media and supports, have produced a great profusion of information sources that, as is the case with electronic documentation, are producing the elimination of intermediaries between the information's origin and its receiver. Accordingly, the knowledge of the most appropriate sources for each moment's research necessities is gaining vital importance. The objective of this article is to systematize the sources of information about oncology, mainly in an electronic support, according to document typology. In the first place, the sources and criteria for information retrieval of primary documents. In the second place, the sources and criteria for information retrieval of secondary documents. In this second group, we encompass catalogs and databases. Lastly, we compile web site addresses of interest in oncology, grouped around: official institutions, research centers and groups, associations and information for affected patients, professional associations and related societies, directories, portals and search tools, and private companies related to the sector
