  • Resumen
    • Objective: To give evidence of the possible risk for the fetus derived from pharmacological treatments to which the father has been previously exposed and/or during the conception. Method: Follow-up of five cases where immunosuppressant and cytostatic drugs are implicated. For each case it has been recorded: initial purpose of request to the Prenatal Diagnose Unit, evaluation reports of drugs prepared by the Drug Information Center, diagnostic tests and final result of the gestation. Results: Of the five cases being evaluated, two are included in programs of assisted reproduction and in the three remaining ones the pregnancy resulted in the birth of completely healthy children. Conclusions: Some drugs present carcinogenic and mutagenic properties that can damage the germinal cells both animal and human. The chromosomal study and the detailed clinical record of the future fathers, including an adequate evaluation of pharmacological treatments, will establishing a correct diagnose
