Resumen de El Cavall de Olocau y sus leyendas. Leyenda y realidad de un Santuario Medieval.

  Entre los años 1996 y 2001 y en mi calidad de espeleólogo (sin intención alguna de inmiscuirme y/o suplantar las competencias de los estudiosos en temas antropológicos, históricos o religiosos, por citar tan solo algunos ejemplos) efectué un trabajo de investigación que intentaba dilucidar que de verdad y que de imaginación popular había en la leyenda que se desarrollaba en la cueva del �Cavall� de Olocau y que ya aparece reflejada por escrito en el siglo XVII, en la obra del historiador G.J.ESCOLANO �Década Primera de la Historia de la Insigne...�. Los resultados de este trabajo fueron más que curiosos y se recopilaron bajo el título �EL CAVALL D'OLOCAU I LES SEVES LLEGENDES. LLEGENDA I REALITAT D'UN SANTUARI MEDIEVAL�, aunque posteriormente se publicaron de forma fraccionada . Años después de dicha publicación, se ha efectuado la reunificación y revisión de aquellos artículos, traduciendo el texto en su totalidad al castellano. En síntesis se ha venido en demostrar la veracidad de los hechos, que a tenor de lo expuesto, debieron revestir cierta importancia en su época (s. XV) en cuanto motivaron la emisión de una Bula papal por parte de nuestro prelado CALIXTO III, aunque al día de hoy se mantienen dos incógnitas, por un lado la existencia o no de un ídolo en forma de caballo y por otro el cierre efectivo de la cavidad para atajar de raíz aquellos actos paganos en una época en la el peligro turco llamaba a las puertas de la cristiandad, haciendo temblar sus cimientos o al menos produciendo un desasosiego importante.

  Between 1996 and 2001 and as a speologist (without meaning to interfere and/or to supplant the competences of experts in anthropologic, historic or religious subjects, just to mention some examples) did a research work that was trying to clarify which true facts and which ones related to the popular imagination, were in the legend that developed in the cave of the horse in Olocau and that appeared in written form as early as the XVII century, in the work of the historian G.J.ESCOLANO "First Decade of the History of the Distinguised�"The results of this work were more than curious and were compiled under the title of "Horse of Olocau and its Legend. Legend and Reality of a Medieval Sanctuary" though they were published by instalments. Some years after the above mentioned publications, the gathering and review of those articles have been done, translating the whole text into Spanish. In short the truth of the facts has been proved, that according to what has been stated above, had to be of certain importance at the time (XV c.) since they caused the emission of a papal bull from our prelate Calixto III, through nowadays there are two questions, on one hand, the existence or not of an idol with the form of a horse, and on the other one, the effective closing of the cave to put an end to those pagan acts at a time in which the Turkish threat was knocking on the doors of Christendom, shaking its foundations or at least causing deep unease.
