    EL INSTITUTO DE BIOMECÁNICA DE VALENCIA (IBV), HA DESARROLLADO LA SILLA ANFIBIA "MARINA", que mejorará el complicado acceso a las playas y al baño de personas con discapacidades. El proyecto, promovido por la Conselleria de Bienestar Social del Gobierno Valenciano, ha contado con la financiación de IBERDROLA y la participación de la empresa valenciana VIRMEDIC, S.L. Para definir las características de la silla anfibia se ha trabajado con usuarios y asistentes.

    Partiendo de sus opiniones y de la experiencia que el IBV viene acumulando en el campo de las ayudas técnicas, se ha aplicado la potente metodología QFD para obtener los requisitos de diseño de la silla anfibia.

    The Institute of Biomechanics of Valencia (IBV) has developed the "MARINA" amphibious wheelchair, that will improve the complicated access to the beaches and bathe for disabled people. The project has been promoted by Conselleria de Bienestar Social (Welfare Department) of the Valencian Government and financed by IBERDROLA, with the participation of the Valencian manufacturer VIRMEDIC, S.L. Co-operation with users and carers has been the basis to define the characteristics of the amphibious chair. From their opinions and from the experience accumulated in the technical aids field by the IBV, the power of QFD methodology has been applied to obtain the design requirements of the amphibious chair.
