Resumen de Confirmación de la presencia de Thecla betulae (Linnaeus, 1758) en Extremadura (España) (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae)

Se confirma la presencia del raro Lycaenidae Thecla betulae (Linnaeus, 1758) en la provincia de Cáceres, donde no se había encontrado desde hacía 40 años. En este trabajo se muestran datos de 3 nuevas cuadrículas UTM de 100 km2, lo que supone un incremento importante de su distribución. Se revisa la escasa bibliografía publicada y se presenta información inédita y actualizada sobre esta especie en Extremadura. Se aportan nuevos datos relacionados con su hábitat y ecología en esta Comunidad Autónoma. Para proteger a este escaso taxón se propone, entre otras medidas, su inclusión en el Catálogo Regional de Especies Amenazadas de Extremadura.

The presence of the rare Lycaenidae Thecla betulae (Linnaeus, 1758) is confirmed in the province of Cáceres, where it had not been found in the last 40 years. In this paper, data for 3 new UTM squares of 100 km2 are displayed, which represents a significant increase in its distribution. The limited published literature is reviewed and unpublished and updated information is presented on this species in Extremadura. New data related to its habitat and ecology in this region is also reported. Among other measures for protecting this rare taxon, its inclusion in the Regional Catalog of Threatened Species of Extremadura is proposed.
