  • Melanoma is a malignant tumor of melanocytes. It appears mainly on the skin, but could also have other locations. If an early diagnose is made and no infiltration exists, the treatment will strictly be surgical through a scission of the primary lesion and the margins. If, on the contrary, an invasion of the deep skin layers already exists, it will be necessary an adjuvant therapy with chemotherapy (dacarbazine at high doses) or biological agents, like interferon alpha-2b and interleukin-2, the latest therapeutic contributions for the treatment of melanoma in combination with chemotherapy or by themselves
