O papel da liga acadêmica de urgências e emergências cirúrgicas na formação médica

    There is a significant difficulty in managing emergencies in public hospitals due to disorganization of the service system and the unpreparedness of recent college graduates. In order to reduce it, it was created the Academic League of Surgical Emergencies in Ponta Grossa State University (LUE-UEPG). The academic benefits of such project are extremely relevant for medical formation. Among them, it possible to mention: the link between theoretical knowledge and practice; the emphasis on ethical aspects of the doctor-patient relationship; the development of clinical reasoning and critical clinical judgment; the improvement of clinical and surgical skills. The medical student shifts are carried out in pairs and consists of seven to ten hours under the guidance of the surgery team of HMAP in which students are allowed to perform ambulatory surgery. At surgery center, students have the opportunity of performing surgical procedures. Considering, the experience gained by students and the reduction of the time spent by patients to be treated, it unquestionable the benefits brought by LUE-UEPG.

    Há uma significativa dificuldade no atendimento de urgências e emergências nos hospitais públicos, devido à desorganização do sistema de atendimento e ao despreparo dos profissionais recém-formados. Buscando divergir dessa realidade, foi idealizada a Liga de Urgências e Emergências Cirúrgicas da Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa. Os benefícios acadêmicos de tal projeto, como visualizar a aplicabilidade do conhecimento teórico, fortalecer os aspectos éticos da relação médico�paciente, exercitar o raciocínio clínico, adquirir habilidades clínico-cirúrgicas, desenvolver um espírito crítico, são relevantes para a formação médica. Os acadêmicos de medicina realizam plantões em duplas que duram entre sete e dez horas,no acompanhamento da equipe de cirurgia geral do HMAP, e são orientados na realização de cirurgia ambulatorial. No centro cirúrgico eles têm a possibilidade de se paramentar, instrumentar e auxiliar em cirurgias.

    Considerando a experiência adquirida pelos acadêmicos e a redução na espera de atendimento, é inquestionável a positividade da existência da LUE-UEPG.
