    En este artículo se pretende ofrecer una panorámica general de los conocimientos que se tienen acerca de los principales megalitos de la actual provincia de Toledo (Castilla-La Mancha, España).

    Tras una síntesis de los trabajos publicados se pretende abordar el tema de la función social y estratégica del megalito funerario. Otro de los objetivos es el de conocer algunos datos relativos al ritual y al concepto de muerte en estas sociedades. Igualmente, se pretenden establecer las influencias y relaciones entre este núcleo megalítico con otros cercanos como el caso de los megalitos extremeños y el núcleo de megalitos de la Beira en Portugal.

    This paper aims to provide an overview of what is known about the major megaliths of the present province of Toledo (Castilla-La Mancha, Spain) After a summary of the published work is intended to address the issue of social and strategic function of funerary megalith. Another objective is to know some facts relating to ritual and the concept of death in these societies. Likewise, aim to establish the influences and relationships between this core with other nearby megalithic as the case of Extremadura megaliths and megalithic of Beira region in Portugal.
