    Sus Majestades los Reyes inauguraron el pasado 12 de mayo el nuevo invernadero del Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid. Esta instalación cuenta con tres compartimentos de condiciones climáticas diferenciadas: uno tropical, otro templado y otro desértico. En su interior se han plantado aproximadamente 1.200 especies, y una característica importante del nuevo invernadero es la ausencia de contaminación, ya que su climatización depende exclusivamente de energías renovables. En el mismo acto, el ministro de Educación y Ciencia, Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba, hizo entrega al rey Juan Carlos de la Medalla de Oro del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC).

    On May 12th last, Their Majesties the King and Queen opened the new greenhouse at the Madrid Royal Botanical Gardens. This facility is divided into three sections with different climatic conditions: one tropical, another temperate and the third desert. Almost 1,200 species of plants have been planted in it. An important feature of the new greenhouse is the absence of pollution, given that the air-conditioning is run exclusively on renewable forms of energy. At the same ceremony the Minister of Education and Science. Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba, presented King Juan Carlos with the Gold Medal of the Council for Scientific Research.
