    Resumen Un grupo de apoyo madre a madre para la lactancia materna es un encuentro donde mujeres ayudan a mujeres. Es un pequeño grupo de embarazadas y mamás que amamantan, que se reúnen regularmente para compartir consejo, experiencias y apoyo. Todas aprenden de todas. Se afianzan en sus decisiones y en la confianza que tienen puesta en sí mismas como madres. Este voluntariado social surge a demanda de las madres y ha demostrado ser más eficaz que el apoyo a la lactancia materna exclusivamente profesional. Con este estudio se pretende comprender y aprehender las motivaciones y expectativas que llevaron a dos mujeres a convertirse en monitoras de un grupo de apoyo a la lactancia materna.

    Estudio cualitativo e inductivo. La metodología utilizada fue de relato biográfico y la técnica de recogida de datos fue la entrevista en profundidad semiestructurada. Se realizaron dos sesiones de entrevistas que fueron grabadas y después transcritas. Finalmente, se construyó un relato basado en las propias palabras de las informantes.

    En las entrevistas las informantes narraron cómo enfrentarse y superar sus propios problemas con la lactancia materna las motivó a ayudar a otras mujeres a hacerlo.

    Abstract (From mother to mother: Counseling, experience and support for breast feeding) A mother to mother breastfeeding support group is a meeting point where women help women. It's a small group of pregnant and breastfeeding moms who meet regularly to share advice, experiences and support. They all learn from each other. They hold on together in their decisions and put their confidence in themselves as mothers. This volunteer social work arises in response to mother's need. It has proved to be more effective than exclusive professional breastfeeding support. This study aims to understand and grasp the motivations and expectations that led two women to become instructors of a support group for breastfeeding.

    Qualitative and inductive study. The methodology used was biographical story and technique of data recovery was a semistructured in-depth interview. There were two interview sessions recorded and transcribed. Finally, a story was built based on the own words of informants.

    During the interviews, the informants described how to deal and overcome their own problems with breastfeeding led them to help other women to do so.
