El artículo analiza la importancia que el pintor altoaragonés Valentín Carderera concedía a los ropajes y los complementos de joyería que son, en su opinión, parte tan importante del retrato como la propia fisonomía del retratado. El ensayo se centra en los retratos conservados en el Museo del Romanticismo y los ocho retratos que el pintor afirmó haber pintado de la princesa Doria Pamphili durante su estancia en Roma, pensionado por los Duques de Villahermosa.
This paper discusses the importance attached to clothing and accessories of jewelry by Aragonese painter Valentín Carderera: in his opinion, these details of the portrait were as important as the very physiognomy of the sitter. The essay focuses on some portraits held at the Museum of Romanticism and discusses the eight portraits of Princess Doria Pamphili that the artist claimed to have painted during his stay in Rome, pensioned by the Dukes of Villahermosa.
