  Este estudio trata sobre los resultados de las excavaciones realizadas en el primer sitio arqueológico aborigen estudiado en la región fisiogeográfica, Llanura Sur de Pinar del Río. Permaneció cubierto por sedimentos fluviales desde su abandono por las comunidades arcaicas que lo poblaron. En el objeto de la investigación se perfila el devenir histórico de pueblos con nivel de economía de apropiación preagroalfarera o protoarcaica, arcaico y protoagricultor y el lugar que ocupan estos nuevos conocimientos en la reconstrucción del modo de vida mesolítico en esta región. Se persigue obtener evidencia capaz de explicar, las razones por la que los antiguos pobladores seleccionaron esos lugares para vivir, de qué y cómo se vivía en ellos, el tamaño de los grupos que los poblaron y el carácter más ordenado sedentario de aquellos poblamientos.

  This study deals with the results of excavations carried out in the first aboriginal archaeological site studied in the physiographic region of Pinar del Rio's Southern Plain. It remained covered by fluvial sediments since it was abandoned by the Archaic commu-nities which settled it. In the objective of this research, it was outlined the historical development of peoples with a gathering level of pre-agricultural or proto Archaic economy, both Archaic and proto-agricul-tural, and the place occupied by this new knowledge in the reconstruction of the Mesolithic mode of livelihood of this region. It is sought to obtain evidence capable of explaining the reasons why the ancient settlers selected those places in which to live, from what and how they lived in them, the size of settlements and the more orderly and sedentary nature of those settlements.
