  • The article looks at economic conditions and economic policy in Japan, as of 2014. The author offers a critical analysis of the economic policies of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, termed Abenomics, which are intended to accelerate the country's economic growth and address deflation. He outlines Abenomics's three major components, monetary easing, fiscal stimulus, and structural reform, evaluating their implementation and potential for improving the economy. Topics include the labor market and the growth of contingent work, reform of agricultural subsidies, and negotiations over the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade agreement.
