    Como respuesta a una situación de declive, Puerto de la Cruz está siendo objeto de importantes planes, estrategias y actuaciones destinadas a reconvertir el destino. El desarrollo del denominado turismo de reuniones puede encajar perfectamente en las tendencias actuales que se plantean para el destino, sobre todo, si se aprovechan las sinergias generadas por la celebración de eventos, tanto grandes como pequeños acontecimientos, incrementando así la competitividad del destino. Esta investigación tiene como principal objetivo analizar la situación actual del turismo de eventos en este destino turístico, identificando su potencial y planteando algunas sugerencias, para convertir este segmento de turismo en uno de los motores que apoyará la reinvención de Puerto de la Cruz.

    In response to a situation of decline, Puerto de la Cruz is undergoing major plans, strategies and actions to reconvert the destination. The development of the sector of tourism known as meeting segment can fit perfectly into the current trends that arise for the destination, especially if they take advantage of the synergies generated by events, both large and small events, increasing the competitiveness of the destination. This research has as main objective to analyze the current situation of MICE sector in this tourist destination, identifying their potential and raising some suggestions, to make this segment of tourism become one of the driving forces which supports the Puerto de la Cruz reinvention.
