    En el presente artículo analizamos cómo se ha enfocado la conexión entre Canarias y el norte de África en la tradición historiográfica comprendida entre los siglos XIV y XX, prestando atención a los distintos modelos teóricos desarrollados para explicar el primer poblamiento humano de las islas. Paralelamente, se aborda cómo se construyó y evolucionó, desde el punto de vista historiográfico y arqueológico, la referida conexión entre Canarias y el Norte de África.

    In this paper we analyze how it was dealt the connection between the Canary Islands and the North of Africa in the historiographical tradition developed between the 14th and 20th centuries, paying attention to the different theoretical models developed to explain the first human settlement of the islands. At the same time, we will analyze how it was built and evolved, from the historiographical and archaeological point of view, the connection between the Canaries and the North of Africa.
