    This article was developed from a mastering dissertation entitled As Representações Sociais de Trabalho e Educação em comunidades ribeirinhas (The Social Representations of Work and Education in riverside communities as a result of the research done in the period of 2008-2010 in the community GuanabaraII in the municipal district of Benjamin Constant, in Alto Solimões river and the objective was to present the relation between work and education emphazing country life in the amazonian riverside. This work was based on Witkoski (2006), Kuenzer (1997), Saviani (1994), Silva (2003), among others that developed studies on the relation between work and education and that deals with the reality lived by inhabitants of the rural riverside context and contribute to deepen the studies and reflexions on the conceptions and practices that show the indissociability between work and education and the way of making possible the existence of the people who live from the land, the water and the forest and that have a great contribution to the development of the region.

    O presente artigo foi desenvolvido a partir da dissertação de mestrado intitulada As Representações Sociais de Trabalho e Educação em comunidades ribeirinhas resultante da pesquisa realizada no período de 2008-2010 na comunidade de Guanabara II do município de Benjamin Constant, Mesorregião do Alto Solimões e objetivou apresentar a relação entre trabalho e educação enfatizando o campesinato ribeirinho amazônico. Este trabalho apoiou-se em Witkoski (2006), Kuenzer (1997), Saviani (1994), Silva (2003), dentre outros que desenvolvem estudos sobre a relação entre trabalho e educação e que abordam a realidade vivenciada pelos moradores do contexto rural ribeirinho e vem contribuir com o aprofundamento de estudos e reflexões acerca das concepções e práticas que demonstram a indissociabilidade entre trabalho e educação e o modo de produzir a existência do povo que vive da terra, da água e da floresta e que muito contribui com o desenvolvimento da região.
