Resumen de Compromisos e intereses internacionales para el futuro de Afganistán

Cuando, el 1 de enero de 2015, se haya consumado la retirada de las fuerzas de la ISAF, los retos a los que se enfrentará la República Islámica de Afganistán serán de tal magnitud que es muy improbable que los afganos puedan asumir esa responsabilidad en solitario. La integración en las organizaciones económicas y de seguridad regionales, la colaboración internacional y el respaldo que presten los países vecinos son indispensables para la estabilidad futura de Afganistán.
Pero la realidad indica que las respuestas regionales a los problemas afganos son de difícil aplicación, como demuestran los hasta ahora más bien tímidos resultados de las iniciativas regionales de integración. La dinámica de las relaciones intrarregionales se encuentra capturada por las pugnas geopolíticas que tienen lugar en el tablero afgano.
El objetivo de este capítulo es analizar las oportunidades y contradicciones que los marcos internacional y regional ofrecen para el progreso de Afganistán. Para ello, los distintos apartados describen: 1) el contexto internacional y el papel que juegan, y que jugarán, las principales organizaciones internacionales; 2) la influencia de las dinámicas regionales en la estabilidad y prosperidad de Afganistán; y 3) la acción de los poderes regionales en defensa de sus intereses nacionales.

By the end of the ISAF´s forces withdrawal, on January 1, 2015, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan will face challenges of such magnitude that it´s very unlikely that the Afghans could assume the responsibility in isolation. Then, the country integration in regional security and economic organizations, the international collaboration, and the support of neighboring nations will be critical for the future stability of Afghanistan.But, the reality indicates that regional answers to the Afghan problems are difficult to exploit. So far, the regional integration initiatives have demonstrated poor results. Dynamics of the intraregional relations are captured by the geopolitical struggles that take place in the Afghan chess-board.The aim of this chapter is to analyze the opportunities and contradictions that the international and regional frameworks offer for Afghanistan progress. Different paragraphs describe: (1) the international context and the role that the principal international organizations play, and will play, in the short and medium term; (2) the influence of the regional dynamic forces in the stability and prosperity of Afghanistan; and (3) the action of the regional powers in defense of their national interests.
