Resumen de «Dones paral·leles» a Heròdot: Tòmiris i Artemísia

In the work of Herodotus, amongst the women who hold and effectively exercise power, Tomyris and Artemisia have both significant common aspects: queens, widows, mothers, and involved in armed conflicts in which they personally intervene. The differences existing between them are essentially their characters: legendary and barbaric of the first one; historical and hellenized the second one. The aim of this paper is to set up their respective common and different elements, not only through the Herodotus sources, but also later ones, mainly as far as they assimilate changes in the characters.

Entre les dones que a l�obra d�Heròdot detenen poder i l�exerceixen de manera efectiva, Tòmiris i Artemísia presenten significatius aspectes en comú: reines, vídues, mares i implicades en conflictes bèl·lics en què intervenen personalment. Les diferències entre elles responen, bàsicament , al caràcter llegendari i bàrbar de la primera, històric i hel·lenitzat de la segona. L�objectiu del present article és exposar els respectius elements comuns i diferencials, a través de les fonts, no només d�Heròdot sinó de les posteriors, sobretot en la mesura que ofereixen canvis en els personatges.
