El autor hace un breve recorrido en la historia cultural del director de cine surrealista hispano/mexicano Luis Buñuel, centrándose en las similitudes y en las diferencias étnicas desde el punto de vista cultural mexicano y español sobre la muerte.
Asimismo explica la distinguida pátina surrealista en el exitoso interludio mexicano de Luis Buñuel que fundamenta el aclamado trabajo del director de cine hispano.
Los habitantes originarios de México, conocidos como aztecas, en la época precolombina, estaban muy obsesionados con la idea de la muerte, al igual que la atmósfera "profundamente" medieval del entorno rural del Bajo Aragón en el cual Buñuel se crío. A la par que Buñuel introducía los aires fatalistas y de carácter hispano de México, comenzó a volcar toda su creatividad hasta el punto de ganar en 1972 el Oscar en los EE.UU. con la mejor película en lengua extranjera, El Discreto Encanto de la Burguesía.

The author makes a brief tour in the cultural history of the Spanish- Mexican Surrealist film director Luis Buñuel focusing on the ethnical similarities, and differences of the Mexican and Spanish cultural views on death to attempt to explain the surrealistic casing in the success of Buñuel´s Mexican interlude. Of which, without it, Buñuel wouldn't have been able achieve the, so much sought after, surreal trademark that has depicted the work of the highly acclaimed Hispanic film director. The original inhabitants of Mexico known as the Aztecs, in the pre-Columbian era, were highly fixated with the idea of death, likewise as in the case of Buñuel´s "deeply" Medieval atmosphere of his rural upbringing in the lower Aragon region of Spain. Buñuel upon being reintroduced to the highly fatalistic airs and Hispanic character of Mexican´s cultural bagged Luis Buñuel´s creativity began to outpoured to the culminating point of winning the Oscar in the USA for the best foreign language film in 1972 for The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie.
