  • This paper deals with a contrastive analysis of "tout N" in French and "vsjakij N" in Russian. "Vsjakij N" has the same uses as "tout N", but it can be used as well in various other cases where "tout N" is impossible. The systematic comparison of the uses and meanings of those two indefinites lies on a basic caracterization worked out for of each of them, liable to account for the cases of proximity as welt as those of difference. This study is also a contribution to the understanding of the category of determination by bringing forth specific theoretical tools. This study has been developed within the framework of the theory of the enunciative and predicative operations of A. Culioli.
