  Resumen La artritis reumatoide juvenil es un tipo de artritis que padecen los niños y adolescentes menores de 16 años de edad. Constituye un grupo de trastornos inflamatorios que se desarrolla con rigidez en las articulaciones y, algunas veces, disminución de la movilidad. No se sabe por qué sucede o qué causa la enfermedad. Algunos piensan que la enfermedad puede estar relacionada con dos causas: por un lado que sea hereditario, lo cual hace que el niño sea más propenso a la artritis y, por otro lado, que algún virus sea el que desencadene la artritis. El objetivo principal de este estudio es conocer cómo viven y afrontan la enfermedad los pacientes diagnosticados de artritis reumatoide juvenil. Para ello se seleccionó a una adolescente a la que le diagnosticaron esta enfermedad a la edad de nueve años. La informante relata cómo fue su día a día, las etapas de su enfermedad, sus emociones, sus sentimientos, sus pensamientos, sus expectativas y su opinión.

  Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis is a type of arthritis that occurs among children up to 16 years of age. Is a group of inflammatory disorders that develops with stiffness and sometimes decreased mobility. No one knows why this happens or what causes the disease. Some think that the disease may be related to two causes: first it is inherited, which makes the child more prone to arthritis and, secondly, that a virus is the one that triggers arthritis. The main objective of this study was to determine how they live and face disease patients diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. We selected a teenage girl he was diagnosed with the disease at the age of nine. The informant tells about her day to day, the stages of their illness, their emotions, their feelings, their thoughts, their expectations and their opinion.
