This ninth bird-ringing report published by the Catalan Ornithological Institute (formerly Catalan Ringing Group) covers the period 2000-2002. Altogether 162, 823 birds of 232 taxa were ringed during the three years, including 17 species new for the ICO; note that all these data exclude hand-reared birds and those attended in recovery centres. The number of birds ringed by the group has increased over recent years due to the incorporation of new ringers, and also due to new projects. This report reviews all these activities, and provides a selected list of controls and of the most interesting recoveries.
