  • The article discusses the release of the top 10 best books according to leaders in the Chinese government and members of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee as of 2013, with a focus on how the ideological themes of these books correspond to political conditions and government policy in China. The top ten list includes "The China Wave: Rise of a Civilizational State," by Zhang Weiwei; "The Track of History," by Xie Chuntao; and "Pain and Glory," by Jin Yinan. The books' representation of the role of the Communist Party in China's economic development is examined.
