  • Resumen
    • The article focuses on Pope Francis and his efforts to change the world's view of the Roman Catholic Church. It states he's the first non-European pope in over 1,200 years and has different views concerning globalization and capitalism than his predecessors, Benedict XVI and John Paul II. It mentions he's condemned an economic center he claims worships money and talks about uplifting the poor. It comments that while he's not changed church doctrine concerning abortion or birth control, he has altered its emphasis toward social issues. It considers his decision to canonize both Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII and mentions the latter was the reformist pope of the Second Vatican Council.
