    La digitalización de la televisión constituye como tendencia observada en diferentes países del mundo. En América Latina, mucho se ha hablado sobre la implantación de la televisión digital. En Brasil ya está establecido el Sistema Brasileño de Televisión Digital (SBTVD) y en Chile la Televisión Digital (TVD). Este artículo tiene como objetivo comparar los principales aspectos de la implantación de la televisión digital en Brasil y Chile, enfatizando también las matrices teóricas que han sido parte de este proceso.

    The digitalization of television is a tendency observed in many countries around the world. In Latin America much has been discussed about its implementation, in Brazil is already instituted the Brasilian System of Digital Television and in Chile the Digital Television (TVD), in this way the present article has the objective of comparing the main aspects of the digital television implementation between Brazil and Chile, emphasizing the theoretical matrices observed in this process.
