Resumen de Una modalidad no traumática de la memoria

Néstor Braunstein

  • español

    La idea de traumatismo, procedente del discurso médico, es central en la construcción del pensamiento de Freud y de la teoría y la práctica del psicoanálisis. El traumatismo es una barrera que pone distancia en relación con un tiempo que le es anterior y que se reconstruye después de él. Ese tiempo anterior es objeto de una reconstrucción de la memoria y lo más posible es que nunca haya existido. Sin embargo, se le añora. Esa es la nostalgia, un estado considerado como enfermedad entre el siglo XVII y hasta finales del XIX, olvidado e incluso menospreciado en el siglo XX, que hoy reaparece en la clínica de las depresiones y en los trastornos, muchas veces graves, de quienes se ven obligados al destierro. Otro polo de la memoria traumática.

    The idea of trauma, coming from the medical discourse, is central to the construction of the thought of Freud and the theory and practice of psychoanalysis. Trauma is a barrier that puts distance with respect to a time that is earlier to it and which is reconstructed after it. That earlier time is the object of reconstruction of memory and the chances are that it never existed.

    However, the subject yearns for it.

    Thats nostalgia, a condition which was considered to be a disease between the seventeenth century and the end of the nineteenth century;

    in the twentieth century, it was forgotten and even despised; and today, it reappears in the clinical depression and disorders, often serious, of those who are forced into exile. This is another pole of traumatic memory.
