• Wintering pairing in Siskins has been suggested for captive birds. Here we present observations of courtship feeding in wild wintering Siskins, which seem to confirm this wintering mating. This early formation of pairs could be a key factor towards understanding the opportunistic breeding of the species found in several areas.
