  • Surveys corried out in 1988 on¿ 1989 of the breeding populotions of sandgrouse in Catalonia (NE Spoin) hove estimoted 9-15 pairs of Black-bellied Sandgrouse ond 100-120 of Pin-toiled Sondgrouse. The development of the population and distribution from 1945 to the present indicate a similar status in the case of the Pin-toiled Sandgrouse, whereas the Block-bellied has declined dramatically Changes in agricultural practices, obusive levels of hunting and various other types of human disturbance seem to be the most important causes of this trend
