  • Resumen
    • It is generally stated that a large number of breeding Herring Gulls from Catalonia mouh during the autumn at the Ebro Delta. However, up to now there have been no specific censuses of the species during this season. A survey of Herring Gulls carried out during the autumn confirms the Ebro Delta as the main zone of post-breeding concentration, although high numbers of individuals remain at the Medes Islands, where the majority of the population breeds. Juvenile/adult ratio was close to 1: 3 in all the areas examined (n=6), except in the Medes Islands, where there was a higher proportion of adults, and Tarragona where the inverse was true. Our data support the idea that the Ebro Delta is a special moulting area
