Clutch failure (35.3%) in Kentish Plovers Charodrius alexandrinus on beaches at the Llobregat Delta (Barcelona, Spain), increased from April (0%)to June (83.4%). The main cause of foilure was probably predation. One case of probable clutch predation by Magpies Pica pica was recorded, and it is suggested that this species might be on important predator of Kentish Plover nests
