  • Between 1983 and 1992 practically all of the Capercaillie leks of the Aigüestortes-Sant Maurici National Park were located (n= 1 O), and the number of males present was counted. The most important characteristics of leks and the results of censuses are described, indicating a slight regressive trend in three of the leks. Practica1 recommendations are proposed about the management of the Capercaillie in the National Park according to the "Species Management Planning in Catalonia".
