This note reports the first record of a pair of Bonelli's Eagles nesting in a tree in Catalonia, NE Spain. The nest was built on a lateral branch of on Aleppo pine Pinus halepensis 12 m high. One chick fledged successfully. The use of a tree for nesting could be related to the human disturbance near the two previous regular cliff nests of the pair. Additional records of Bonelli's Eagle nesting in trees in other areas of Spain, Portugal, France and North Africa are reviewed.
