Resumen de Dispersión y madurez reproductiva de la Cigüeña Blanca (Ciconia ciconia) en Madrid (centro de España)

During surveys of 60-80% of the breeding colonies of White Stork in the province of Madrid beiween 1989 and 1996, 116 ringed adults were visually controlled. Mean natal dispersa1 was 33.03 Km (s. D. =46.63, n= 116, maximum distance=382 Km, minimum=O). At leost 25 birds bred for the first time in their second year and 32 in their third yea,: The high percentage of individuals breeding in their second and third years of life seems to confirm the increase of this population in central Spain.
