The analysis of biometrical data of Cory's Sheanvaters Calonectris diornedea diomedea from the island of Minorca showed that the main differences between the sexes appeared in bill, tarsus and weight. The result of multiplying the length of the bill by its depth was always greater than 638.3 for males and less than 603.7 for females. Comparisions with other Mediterranean colonies revealed significant variation, although differences in all measurements were found only in the farthest colony from Minorca (Crete-Aegean Sea). A progressive increase in size is noted from east to west in individuals from the different Mediterranean colonies.
