  • Resumen
    • The Tawny Owl nests in a huge variety of sites, ranging from natural cavities to man's buildings. On 16.03.96, we observed three Tawny Owl chicks in a Bonelli's Eagle nest, which had been abandoned in 1984. The chicks were about 15 days old, so the eggs would have been laid ut the begining of April. On our fifth visit, on 04.06.96 the chicks were not detected, which suggests that they had left the nest ut the age of 30-35 days old. A Peregrine Falcon nest was located only 7 m from the Tawny Owl's nest. The folcons did not nest in 1996 because the female wos still juvenile, but they did in 7 997 and 1998. No interspecific reactions between Tawny Owls and Peregrines were observed, in spite of the fact that the Peregrines were present in the territory during all of our visits
