  As transformações sociais e tecnológicas que ocorreram nos últimos anos conduziram a modificações no comportamento dos pais para com os bebés, cujas repercussões sobre a qualidade da relação emocional e dos cuidados parentais estão ainda muito por investigar. O momento do nascimento é um período que se repercute na capacidade de amar do ser humano, pelo que a vinculação deve ser estabelecida o mais precocemente possível. Uma relação emocional única, específica e duradoura a vinculação materna ao bebé, estabelece-se de um modo gradual desde que se verificam os primeiros contactos entre a mãe e o bebé, facilitada pela adaptação do sistema hormonal da mãe e estimulada pela presença do bebé, privilegiada num período sensível, localizado nos momentos imediatos ao parto. Traduz-se num processo de adaptação mútua no qual mãe e bebé participam.

  Este artigo é uma revisão teórica, que pretende reunir e sintetizar os estudos mais relevantes, descrevendo os inúmeros benefícios da vinculação materna ao bebé e o que estimula ou promove o vínculo dos pais com o bebé.

  The social and technological transformations that have occurred in recent years have led to changes in the behavior of parents towards their babies, whose impact on the quality of emotional relationship and parenting is still much to investigate. The time of birth is a period that affects the ability to love the human being, so the link should be established as soon as possible. An emotional relationship unique, specific and lasting linking mother to the baby, it establishes a gradually taking place since the first contact between mother and baby, facilitated by adapting the hormonal system of the mother and stimulated by the presence of the baby inside a sensitive period, located in the moments immediately following the birth. Translates into a process of mutual adaptation in which mother and baby involved. This article is a literature review, which aims to gather and synthesize the most relevant studies, describing the numerous benefits of attachment to mother and baby that encourages or promotes parental bond with the baby.
