  • The article discusses the fading future of Catholicism in Latin America. Topics covered include the figure of Christ the Redeemer in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, the drop in Latin America's Catholic population between 1910 and 2010, and the gradual decline in Latin America's fertility rate from the second half of the 20th century to the present. Also mentioned are the increasing use of contraceptives across Latin America and the loss of Catholic representation in Brazil.
