One of the most contentious points in any hotel establishment is undoubtedly the correct identification of their customers.
Between the most compelling technologies to solve this problem we have the biometrics, already tested in other environments with an efficiency and effectiveness more than outstanding. However, legality and not technical problems inhibit the correct and widespread deployment of these technologies. This paper gives an overview of the identification and authentication systems for customers in the hospitality industry with an emphasis on biometric technologies and legal issues arising from their use
