  • Resumen
    • Two species of the genus Cytheridella occur in the Eocen Eastern Europe: Cytheridella gantensis Monostori, 1977 (Gánt, Transdanubia, Hungary) and Cytheridella buseri n. Sp., (Konjiska Vas, Slovenia). Recent species of this genus are known from the Americas and Africa, but pre-Pleistocene occurrences are found only in Eurasia. The already in the Eocene significant spreading of this genus and its locally serious occurrence in Eurasian freshwaters are proven by the investigated localities. These ostracods readily from almost monospecific communities with very high number of specimens like other species of the family Limnocytheridae.
