The study of global climate evolution requires high-resolution data from well-dated deep-sea cores. This study presents such high-resolution percentage radiolarian proxy data for 1.75-2Ma, latest Pliocene (Olduvai subchron time-slab), from Ocean Drilling Program (ODP) Leg 111 Hole 677A from the Panama Basin, and can be viewed in association with recently recovered ODP Leg 138 material from elsewhere in the eastern equatorial Pacific. The data forms the basis of ongoing research into the palaeoceanographical history of the Panama Basin, but may be intergrated into any palaeoclimatic database. The 56 radiolarian counting groups are here defined in detail and illustrated. One new species, Eucyrtidium funnellium sp. Nov. Is described.
